What’s more, a machine wash at{C} eliminates 99.9% of germs, which is impossible with an industrial sponge that disintegrates in the heat.

Absolutely not. The scraping side (often made of burlap or honeycomb) is designed to be “abrasive but gentle”. It removes food residues without attacking the non-stick coating on your pans or the glass on your hobs. Tip: for ultra-sensitive surfaces, always test on a small, hidden area.

The smell comes from bacteria stagnating in the humidity. Two simple solutions:Drying: Hang it up systematically after each use.The natural disinfectant: If an odour persists, soak it for 10 minutes in a mixture of hot water and bicarbonate a11>bicarbonate of soda or white vinegar before putting it in the washing machine.
